This is a Bridgestone tyre commercial, showing how “amazing” cars start to handle with their product. Too bad reality is not that amazing. It takes a good driver to handle any car, not just a good tyre.

This “modded” Aston Martin, called the DBS, was unveiled by the company a few days ago. For some reason, it didn’t interest me as much as the Honda Accord that was unveiled at the exact same time, so I didn’t bother reporting on it. Well, today is a slow news day, so here it is.
General Motors home-delivered this blingtastic Hummer H3 to our doorstep. It is a very eye-catching vehicle, like no other midsize 4WD on the road today. It has a uniqueness similar to the Jeep Wrangler and the Land Rover Defender, but it is designed to be accessorized. In fact, our tester itself had some extra-cost options installed, and it looked great (and expensive) from the outside. But the interior is a different story.
Some American magazine in the United States leaked the first photo of the 2009 Jaguar XF onto the internet. The new car, shown as a C-XF concept many months ago, will replace the aging S-Type series.
As usual, we are the first to break news about yet another launch of a popular car. This time, it is the all-new 2008 Honda Accord, unveiled in the United States. Apparently the sedan is now big enough to be classified as a large car by the US-government EPA standards. And the Americans also get a coupe version.
One of our readers, Muhammad Talha, who previously sent us photos of the next Nissan Altima in the UAE, apparently found the stash of 2008 Mitsubishi Lancers that we were earlier secretly told existed somewhere in Dubai.
It’s been a few days now since we got the Mini Cooper S. And we are still playing with it. It took us a while to get used to its firm steering/clutch/shifter setup before we could enjoy it (which, thankfully, we could due to BMW’s long four-day test policy). But what surprised us most is that we actually matched the company-quoted 0-100 kph time of 7.1 seconds. And that too with the a/c on in the middle of the summer. Our previous BMW X5 tester took more than a second longer than what BMW said it would take,
Here is a police chase in California involving a Toyota Highlander “crossover” 4WD, a whole lot of police cars, a boatload more traffic, and a guy demonstrating the downfall of wearing loose ghetto pants when running.
Nissan USA revealed the production version of the 2008 Infiniti EX35 at some snooty upscale auto show called Pebble Beach.
Dubai Autodrome invited us to a press conference to introduce some of their new “experience” offerings, namely involving driving their cars on their track with some instruction thrown in. One of us went to try it out. Sort of.
