Subaru Impreza is the most important vehicle for the Japanese marque. With decades of history under its belt, the compact car is now setting foot into its sixth generation in the form of the 2024 Subaru Impreza.
It’s not blue, nor does it have the golden wheels from the concept. Still, we’d love to take this rather puffy-looking sedan, which happens to be the new WRX, out for a spin. The Subaru WRX was officially unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Subaru, the not-so-popular Japanese brand in the UAE, has launched the new XV compact crossover at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Based on the Impreza, the XV combines a lot of new features and tech ensuring excellent functionality and great driving dynamics.
The covers have been lifted off the fourth-generation Subaru Impreza at the 2011 New York International Auto Show. The new Impreza from the not-so-popular brand is now bigger and better, offering its customers more space, better interior quality and features, and “allegedly” better performance.
Up until last year, the Cadillac CTS-V was officially the fastest four-door sedan around the German Nurburgring race track, running 7:59 on the benchmark piece of tarmac where every manufacturer seems to tune their cars on. At some point late in 2009, the Porsche Panamera Turbo claimed the title with 7:56, although its credentials as a sedan are dubious at best, while also being twice as expensive. Now Subaru indirectly claims to have shattered the record with a 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan, coughing up a time of 7:55, although their “production” car is dubious at best.
British firm Cosworth, known for creating factory-warrantied hypercars for a wide variety of manufacturers, has now come up with the Subaru Impreza WRX STI CS400 just for the UK market. Said to go up against supercars, the Cosworth Impreza certainly has the numbers to back it up.
Subaru is now offering the 2011 Impreza WRX STI in two different body styles. In addition to the existing hatchback, the 2010 New York Auto Show played host to the revival of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan, complete with a massive rear wing.
The current Subaru Impreza WRX sedan is lukewarm, to say the least, looking like a econo-appliance rather than the sporting compact that it is. But the 2011 model is going to be facelifted, with a widebody kit similar to the WRX STI.
