Cadillac, the premium luxury brand of General Motors, will enter the compact car segment; with the all-new model “ATS”. Designed to take on premium competition like the Mercedes C-class and BMW 3 series, the ATS is based on the new Alpha platform, which will simultaneously underpin the next generation Chevrolet Camaro.
The Renault Koleos, a rebadged compact crossover built in Korea, has never really sold well in the GCC since its launch a couple of years ago. So the carmaker is going at it a second time with a facelifted model for 2012.

The Bridgestone GCC-wide road show will make two stops in the country with the first in Abu Dhabi and then in Dubai. The roadshow which aims at making the region’s roads safer for everyone will be at the Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi from June 16th to 17th and at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai from June 30th to July 1st. Mercedes-Benz will launch their redesigned 2012 M-Class at the end of this summer, with three engine choices, two diesel and only one petrol. The M-Class will be initially offered in ML250 Bluetec, ML350 Bluetec and ML350 BlueEfficiency variants, with hybrid and AMG versions coming later.
The Maserati Trofeo one-make racing championship was launched this week for the GCC region, at an event in Dubai. The series is backed by the Maserati factory in Modena, Italy and will feature up to 16 mechanically-identical Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo race cars battling it out over 12 races across the Middle East.
The current Chevrolet Malibu made its appearance in Dubai not so long ago. And here we have the redesigned version already which has been unveiled as a 2013 model at the 2011 Shanghai International Motor Show.
Al Tayer Motors, the Ferrari and Maserati dealer for the UAE, has re-opened their Dubai showroom after an extensive refurbishment and expansion. It was unveiled during a media event last week.
After Fiat’s takeover of Chrysler, the impact was new design and revamping of existing models. New for 2012, the Chrysler 300 came out with a new model, although some would call it an upgrade rather than an entire new machine. Claiming it to be the “most powerful, best-handling sedan ever”, Chrysler displayed the highly-anticipated 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 at the 2011 New York Auto Show.
The “new” Ford Taurus was just launched last year as a 2010 model, but the American carmaker is already showing a facelifted 2013 model at the 2011 New York Auto Show, with new engines and cabin tech.
