After a mid-life revamp, the GTS version of the Porsche Macan finds itself as the flagship of the German carmaker’s sub-compact crossover line, as the Macan Turbo disappears from the current range. Not that it matters though, as the new GTS is just as powerful as the “old” Turbo.
Following its cousin, the 2019 Audi Q3, a new Porsche Macan arrives for 2019 with a few changes as part of a mid-cycle refresh. The Macan is the brand’s most successful model to date globally.

Depending on your views, Porsche either keeps launching a lot of new models, or they rarely launch new models. That’s based on whether you think every single variant of the 911 debuting like clockwork every few months is a new model, or whether you consider an entirely new vehicle line to be a new model. We are in the latter camp, and we were interested to see what Porsche had cooked up for the compact crossover segment, with the all-new Macan.
They’ve teased enough, and we’ve waited enough. Yes, Porsche has revealed the Macan crossover and made its official debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto show this week.
The Porsche Macan was announced only a few months ago, in the latest idea by the former sportscar-maker to move downmarket in order to better compete with crossovers like the Audi Q5. Ironically, it was also recently announced that Volkswagen now completely owns Porsche, so essentially the competition for female (and female-like) buyers will be in-house. After much rumour and speculation of the name “Cajun” for an allegedly upcoming Porsche SUV, and several spy shots of an Audi Q5 which was allegedly a Porsche in disguise, all floating around the internet for over a year now, Porsche has decided to break the suspense. As the rumors suggested for most part and unlike the rumored “name”, Porsche is all set to introduce a new sports utility vehicle called the Porsche Macan.
