The all-new 2012 Peugeot 208 hatch is set to continue the success chronicle of the lion-badged French carmaker in the sub-compact segment. Revealed as the successor to the Peugeot 207, the marque intends to leapfrog ahead of its segment competitors.

There’s the Hyundai Genesis Coupe that is saddled with badge-perception issues and a dealer reluctant to import manual ones. There’s the Ford Mustang, which is built like a Ford Mustang. There’s the Chevy Camaro, whose interior is about as pleasing as an airplane toilet. There’s the Honda Accord Coupe and the Nissan Altima Coupe, neither as sporting as they’re expected to be. There’s the VW Scirocco, a fake “coupe” that really is a photoshopped Golf. And now, there is the Peugeot RCZ. And it takes budget coupes to a whole other level.
Peugeot has revealed the new 308. The 2012 Peugeot 308 gets a minor face-lift and some engine changes, improving fuel efficiency. A full debut will take place at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
Peugeot hasn’t had the best of luck with sedans. While their hatchbacks are selling well, both the 407 and the 607 sedans are pretty much midsize sedans, the first one a bit cramped and the latter a bit outdated. But the French company has been working on an all-new model that will replace both of them, and have a new name too. Thus, the first photos of the all-new Peugeot 508 has hit the net.
