Nissan Middle East launched the all-new Nissan Sunny 2020 today at Dubai International Motor Show 2019. Completely new from the ground up, the Mexico-built sub-compact sedan will be on sale starting March 2020.
To celebrate 50 years since the launch of the first GT-R, Nissan has released a GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition package. The package offers three “heritage” exterior colour schemes – blue with white stripes, pearl white with red stripes and silver with white stripes. The colours are inspired from the KPGC10-based race cars. The “Bayside Blue” is the first time Nissan is offering the famous blue shade from the R34 Skyline GT-R model on the R35.
The 2015 Nissan Sunny was launched in the GCC last week, at an event in Dubai.
The 2013 Nissan Sentra has officially gone on sale in the UAE. It is not a replacement for the new sub-compact Nissan Sunny, but will slot in alongside it as a larger compact sedan offering, replacing the older Nissan Sunny and possibly he Tiida sedan.
The Nissan Sunny is one vehicle that needs no introduction, as every driver would have driven one, mostly while learning how to drive, or during some phase of their lives where a bullock-cart and a Chevy Spark would have been the only other cheaper alternatives. Many wouldn’t have known the fact that Nissan had actually gone ahead and offered some variety in their Sunny models at one point, by bringing in a Japanese model, and another one made by the Apple-biting manufacturers from the Land of “Gangnam Style”. The Nissan Sunny was once a leader in the local compact segment, battling the venerable Toyota Corolla and occasionally even outselling it. Heck, most of us learned to drive on that thing, as it was the car of choice for driving schools here. But things changed once the impressive Tiida came into the scene, stealing sales from the Sunny and largely relegating it to fleet-vehicle status, having barely changed in more than a decade. Now that Nissan has decided to dust off the Sunny name and bring in a completely revamped model, keep in mind that it is not playing in the same segment any more.
It was a double surprise as Nissan revealed two different versions of the next-generation Tiida at two different motor-shows in a span of 2 days. As we previously reported about the Chinese Sunny being the new Tiida sedan, the new Sunny debuted as the Versa, currently known as Tiida in the GCC, at the 2011 New York Auto Show, without a hatchback equivalent. Yet, at almost the same time, Nissan revealed a new Tiida hatchback at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show that is a completely different car. Make sense?
Nissan has unveiled an all-new sedan at the Chinese Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition, and named it the Nissan Sunny. This sub-compact new model will go on sale in China by January 2011 and then across 170 countries eventually under different names.
