The Nissan Sentra has been an uneventful middle ground between the existing mundane Sunny and the larger Altima in Nissan’s lineup. The sedan has now been given a complete makeover for 2020. Has it helped in adding some character to the Sentra?
At the 2019 Auto Shanghai, many China-specific models were showcased. A product from the lineup is the Nissan Sylphy, also known as the Sentra in other markets including the GCC.
The Nissan Sentra is getting refreshed with the addition of a sportier version, the SR Turbo, which gets a turbocharged engine. The 2017 Sentra will feature a new face with Nissan’s V-Motion grille similiar to that of the Maxima and Altima.
Nissan has officially revealed the 2016 Sentra facelift at the 2015 LA Auto Show. Looking at the exterior design, the Sentra now shares a similar front fascia with the new Maxima and Altima.
The Nissan Sentra is not exactly considered fast. But then again, don’t underestimate the power of Nissan’s tuning wing- Nismo, as they have come up with a mean looking, power-packed Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
I drove five new cars in the last two weeks. One of them is the all-new Nissan Sentra, handed to us before it’s even gone on sale in the UAE. It is always exciting to be among the first to test any new model, but this is simply an indirect replacement for the lowly Tiida sedan, so we had the lowest expectations from this one. We don’t like economy cars much. And we especially didn’t feel like driving anything built in Thailand. But the Sentra turned out to be the biggest surprise of this month, and quite possibly, the best car in its segment for the price.
The 2013 Nissan Sentra will be hitting showrooms in the UAE very soon. It is not a replacement for the new sub-compact Nissan Sunny, but will slot in alongside it as a compact sedan offering, effectively replacing the older Nissan Sunny.
