The airbag was first developed by Mercedes-Benz after 13 years of research. The first car to receive an airbag was the W126-code 1980 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, in its early 280SE, 380SE and 500SE guises. Mercedes-Benz has also offered a standard driver-side airbag in all models by October 1992.

The U.S. NHTSA safety agency has a recall for the 2002-2010 Mercedes-Benz G-Class for what seems to be a non-issue, although as many as 3,522 G-Wagens are being called in for this in the United States.
With the new 5.5-litre supercharged V8 ready to make its way into every AMG vehicle, Mercedes-Benz hasn’t abandoned the “6.3” naturally-aspirated 6.2-litre V8 yet. The 2011 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG has been given a bump up in horsepower as well as upgraded interior materials.
The 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class was recently unveiled, sporting a new front end with LED bumper lights and a mildly-changed rear end, with a couple of new engines. Now the AMG version of the 2011 CL has been released, in CL63 and CL65 guises, with two more new engines.

Mercedes-Benz has come with an armoured patrol vehicle concept that seems to be attempting a rejuvenation of its military roots. Dubbed the G-Wagen Light Armoured Patrol Vehicle 6.X Concept, it shows the real possibilities of the G-Wagen platform, other than creating rolling roadblocks on city streets.
There were rumours that Mercedes-Benz will drop the CL-Class in favour of renaming it as the S-Class coupe once the new generation rolls around. However, it looks like the 2011 version is simply a facelift, so the CL-Class badge seems to be sticking around for now. Good luck spotting the exterior changes though, as it seems to be nothing more than a mildly reshaped front end and a couple of add-on LED lamps.
