Mercedes Benz introduces a front wheel version of its third-generation Sprinter van which will join the rear and all-wheel driven models. This increases the available configurations of the Sprinter to more than 1700.
Mercedes-Benz has just launched the new 2014 Sprinter in the UAE and Middle East. Just like the last Sprinter event we went to back in 2008, Mercedes-Benz emphasised on the safety features of the latest facelifted model.
Well, there’s been news that the Volkswagen Type 2 Microbus has ended its long production. And that obviously turned out to be a sad moment for many camping enthusiasts. But, there’s something else to cheer about, at least in Europe, because Mercedes-Benz has officially shown off their Sprinter Caravan Concept at the Caravan Salon 2013 held in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The abilities of a vehicle are nothing when the driver isn’t up for the challenge. Here is footage of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van working Germany’s famed Nurburgring racetrack. Having driven the Sprinter ourselves, we’d say an empty Sprinter can handle long sweeping turns once up to speed.
We never get any invites to Mercedes-Benz car launches, and haven’t had any test-drive cars made available to us in years. However, their commercial vehicles division operates independently, and they invited us out-of-the-blue to the local launch of the Sprinter workvan. What caught our attention was the venue — Dubai Autodrome. We just had to go to this one.
