The Bridgestone ‘Tyre Safety and Eco Station’ campaign that has toured around the GCC will finally come to its final destination, the United Arab Emirates. The Bridgestone GCC-wide road show will make two stops in the country with the first in Abu Dhabi and then in Dubai. The roadshow which aims at making the region’s roads safer for everyone will be at the Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi from June 16th to 17th and at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai from June 30th to July 1st. Aston Martin’s range just got bigger. They have just launched the 2012 Aston Martin Virage Coupe and Virage Volante at the Geneva Motor Show. This takes its place in the Aston Martin sporting GT family between the DBS and DB9, although it looks like they designed it by modifying a picture of a DB9 on Photoshop.

Ford’s Conservation and Environmental Grants section yesterday awarded money to two projects from the UAE aimed at the preservation of UAE’s coral reefs and the fight against the illegal trade of animals in the region. Anyone who applies for these ‘green’ grants is eligible to have their project looked at by a panel of environmental experts. We also brought up the topic of electric cars.

One of our readers, Fahad, tipped us off that the 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser will now be available with a 5.7-litre V8 in the Middle East, and has already been revealed in Kuwait as a 60th anniversary model, according to the dealer website there. We are also hearing rumblings that the 5.7-litre model is already in the UAE, and should soon be found in Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries too.
