A week ago, Kia had uncovered the facelifted version of their smallest hatchback, the 2021 Kia Picanto. This time the manufacturer has gone for a segment above and refreshed the next hatchback in their lineup, the Kia Rio. The 2021 Kia Rio brings in a mild yet adequate facelift and a bit more tech inside the car and under the hood.
The Kia Rio is the South Korean carmaker’s sub-compact hatchback offering. It’s not exactly the first car that comes to mind in this category, primarily dominated by the Japanese, but it has some presence in the UAE market (and rocking it in the KSA market) due its decent price-tag. However, the all-new Rio seems to have upped its game, and we recently had a go in it at a media drive event in the UAE.
About two months ago, Kia gave us a glimpse of the Rio supermini hatchback at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Now a new model from the Kia stable is letting us have a look at the 2018 Kia Rio sedan. The K2 sedan intended for China is not exactly the Rio, but it will be what the 2018 Rio sedan will look like with some minor changes.
The all-new redesigned 2017 Kia Rio will premiere at the end of this month at the Paris Motor Show.
If you were in the market for a compact European yuppy-mobile, you might want to wait until the 2012 Kia Rio hits the road by winter. Because it is, as with recent Kia products, a stunner, at least in hatchback form anyway.
The Rio is one of the few cars still carrying the old Kia baggage. But despite Kia only releasing these simple sketches of the next-generaiton 2012 Rio, the car is more ready than you’d think. It is set to debut in March at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
It looks like Korean manufacturer Kia finally has a design language to adhere to, at least for now, as the 2010 Kia Rio has received a limited facelift that gives the sub-compact sedan a corporate grille.
