On invitation from Fiat-Chrysler, we were in Las Vegas last week. The Mopar brand debuted six modified vehicle creations at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Some of these cars were created to highlight the possibilities with Mopar accessories and aftermarket parts, while others were created to get feedback on future accessory offerings. The current generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been around for half a decade now, with a second facelift debuting for the 2017 model year. Changes are minimal, and there is no reason to change it anyway, considering what a fine product it continues to be even now. However, a new Trailhawk model has been added to the line-up, and we got the chance to try it out in and around the city of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The month of August has registered a bunch of recalls in the U.S. that might affect the cars in our market as well. The Takata Airbag related problems continue to surface, with Jaguar Land Rover initiating a recall for the same in the past month.

There have been expensive kits and aftermarket conversions, and while the current rumours say a factory version is indeed on the way, there is now a much cheaper kit to make a Jeep pickup of sorts.

Jeep SRT enthusiasts can rejoice, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has confirmed their plans for a Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee. This will sit alongside the Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat duo, but may not even be SRt-badged.
