The recalls were piling in hard and fast during this year. While we kept up with most of the ones which could’ve potentially affected car owners in the Middle East, we simply stopped keeping track around two months ago, because it became interminably boring writing up repetitive “recall” stories. However, we have a duty to at least highlight the ones which could matter, so here is a rundown of all the recalls in the last 60 days, most issued in the U.S. but which may also affect some GCC-spec cars. Chrysler 200 replaces Sebring for 2011


Now under Fiat ownership, Chrysler is on a brisk product improvement drive, and the latest model to benefit is the unloved Sebring midsize sedan. The Sebring is being replaced by a new model dubbed the Chrysler 200. And contrary to popular belief, it is more of an internal and external facelift with some mechanical upgrades, rather than an all-new platform.

Dodge offers 2011 Ram Laramie Longhorn edition


The aggressive Dodge Ram full-size pickup truck was redesigned a couple of years ago. Then parent company Chrysler went bankrupt, sort of got bought out by Fiat, who promptly decided to restructure the American firm by separating the Ram line-up from the rest of the Dodge range. Thus Ram is now a brand all on its own, although the vehicle is still essentially an unchanged Dodge Ram. The Ram Laramie is currently available in the UAE and some other GCC countries as an upscale truck for yuppies. And in the States, a Ram Laramie Longhorn special edition is now being offered.
