Cadillac has had many “rebirths” over the past two decades. The STS back in the day heralded a new kind of Cadillac. Now it’s gone. Then there was the first CTS. A great car, and incidentally, the first official test car we ever got, but that final bit of refinement was missing. Now we have the ATS. And this is as close to nailing it as they’ve ever come, if not doing so already.
Cadillac have unveiled their latest creation, the new ATS Coupe at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. It might have two doors but the 2015 ATS Coupe will be as long as the sedan.
The results of the 2013 Middle East Motor Awards were announced last evening at a ceremony on the Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, hosted by Muhammed Ali Sajjad of the Expo Centre Sharjah. General Motors is recalling as many as 69,000 of their 2013 full-size SUVs, pickups and vans that could shift out of “Park” by itself and roll away. The recall includes everything based on the GMT900 platform, which includes the Cadillac Escalade; the Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe; and the GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.

Hennessey has taken Cadillac’s CTS-V coupe, done away with the supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in favour of a 7-litre engine block and force-fed it by a pair of turbos for some extra oomph. They call it the 2013 Hennessey VR1200 Twin Turbo Coupe.
