November is going to be an exciting month for car enthusiasts in Dubai, as the Dubai Motor Show is going to kick off during November 14th to 18th, bringing with it the debut of many new cars to the region. Also to be held during that time frame, on the 16th and 17th, will be the Dubai Motorsport Festival, featuring two days of various racing cars.
The international PrivatDrive Supercar show will be held in Abu Dhabi for the first time from the 2nd till the 4th of February 2008. To be held at the Emirates Palace hotel, it is only open to VIPs and industry people. And we are one of their media partners.
It’s a bit disturbing what goes on in the minds of Toyota’s people. This ad shows the Yaris and its human-like features.
Yep, Dubai Police has taken delivery of 101 BMW 5-Series cars, half of which will be used as patrol cars. They are a good step up from the Mercedes-Benz C-classes, Toyota Fortuners and Nissan Pathfinders the cops keep trolling around in already.
A number of new cars were launched this month, although not all of them had the fancy launch party that Nissan had. BMW didn’t even have a party for their Rolls and Mini models.
Five new cars were launched in Dubai in the last few days, with more to follow. These include the Mitsubishi Lancer, the Mitsubishi Outlander, the Honda Legend, the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the Volvo C30.
Here is a police chase in California involving a Toyota Highlander “crossover” 4WD, a whole lot of police cars, a boatload more traffic, and a guy demonstrating the downfall of wearing loose ghetto pants when running.
Dubai Autodrome invited us to a press conference to introduce some of their new “experience” offerings, namely involving driving their cars on their track with some instruction thrown in. One of us went to try it out. Sort of.
