Lamborghini revealed their special-edition model, the Centenario, earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. With just 20 of them built, it was created to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Mr. Ferruccio Lamborghini, the brand’s founder. At the Monterey Car Week, they followed it up by revealing a convertible version, dubbed the Centenario Roadster.
As the discussions regarding whether the BMW 8-Series will replace the 6-Series is heating up, reports indicate that the German luxury brand might be developing a new 9-series sedan. It will be based on the existing 7-series but will be longer and more opulent. The Vision Future Luxury Concept that BMW unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show is believed to be what the new sedan will be based on. If it makes into production, the 9-Series will be pitted squarely against the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.
The German giants BMW and Mercedes-Benz has locked horns in every imaginable way since the time of their inception. Recently, Mercedes rivaled the BMW X6 with the GLE coupe and now they have done the same with the GLC Coupe by pitting it against the BMW X4. Land Rover has started to create two separate lines of products with a clear difference between them. The first one being the luxurious Range Rover range which features the Evoque, Sport and the proper Range Rover. The other one will be the Discovery range, which will have this new model slated above the current Sport to replace the LR4.
The Monterey Car Week played host to the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 concept, a coupe that is just a bit shorter than the Rolls-Royce Phantom II and longer than its cousin, the Mercedes-Maybach S600, both full-size four-door saloons.
The Swedish super-hyper-mega car manufacturer Koenigsegg recently flew their wares all the way to California to attend the 2016 Monterey Car Week. The arsenal that they packed for the show included the Regera and the Agera XS, both homologated for use in the United States for the first time.
Aston Martin has released a convertible version of the Vanquish Zagato Coupe that was revealed last May at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. Named the Vanquish Zagato Volante, the car is the latest creation of a collaboration between Aston Martin and the Italian design house Zagato.
The current Jaguar XJ is the flagship model that set the styling tone for all Jaguars that came after it, and while several new models have joined the range, the XJ itself is getting a bit long in the tooth.
