BMW Z4 sDrive35is debuting as 2011 model


Introduced less than a year ago, the all-new BMW Z4 range will have another model in its line-up, although it still won’t be an M version. Instead, it will the confusingly-named 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is. That little ‘s’ at the end of its name means a bit of extra performance over the sDrive35i, while an optional new M-Sport package will give it a more aggressive look. The Z4 sDrive35is is making its world debut at the 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

The 2010 Lotus Exige S Type 72, yet another one of countless Elise variants, now celebrates the return of Lotus in the 2010 F1 season. It is named after the Lotus Type 72 Formula One racecar which achieved 20 Grand Prix victories between 1970 and 1975.

GM announces death of Saab


General Motors had an overbearing number of brands up until earlier this year, after spending the last few decades picking up random brands for no apparent reason. One of those brands was the Sweden-based Saab, maker of quirky unwanted cars that no one outside Sweden seems to want. GM itself underwent bankruptcy this year, got bought out by Obama’s government, and has been cutting down its portfolio. GM tried to sell Saab to Koenigsegg, then to the Chinese, and then to Spyker. After those talks failed, GM has announced that they are killing Saab.

Peugeot 308 CC, 3008 & RCZ in UAE debut


Peugeot introduced three all-new models at a pre-launch event for the UAE, held on the occasion of the 2009 Dubai Motor Show. The Peugeot 308 CC convertible, the Peugeot 2008 crossover and the Peugeot RCZ coupe will go on sale in the GCC by the end of the first quarter of 2010.
