A new version of the Toyota FT-86 concept has been revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon, a motor show of sorts. Dubbed the FT-86 G Sports Concept, it is also featured in the new trailer for the upcoming PS3 video game Gran Turismo 5.
The North American International Auto Show, better known as the Detroit Auto Show, is normally the largest show of its kind every year, but the 2010 edition is a less grand affair than before, with a limited number of new launches and even fewer extravagant concepts. The flavour of the year seems to be environmentally-friendlier cars such as the Ford Focus and the Honda CR-Z, and near-production concepts such as the Chevrolet Aveo and the Cadillac XTS. Actual new models include the Ford Mustang GT 5.0, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, the BMW Z4 sDrive35is, the Lincoln MKX and the Jeep Liberty Renegade,
It just so happened that when we secured the new-for-2009 Honda Jazz for a test drive, we also got a call from BMW’s rep offering us a Mini Cooper S Cabrio. We kept both, if only for a novelty comparo article later on. However, unfortunately or fortunately, we only got to keep the 118 hp Jazz for a less than a day-and-a-half, while we had the 172 hp Mini for three whole days. So we parked the Cabrio and trundled around Dubai exclusively in the Jazz for a day.

It is odd that the dealer is focusing on offloading leftover 2009 models before truly marketing the new version, but then again, the changes seem to be limited to new bumpers and not much else.
