First Look: 2025 Toyota Urban Cruiser

Toyota Urban Cruiser was first launched in the GCC a couple of years ago. Thanks to its price and fuel efficiency, it quickly succeeded in the region. It was the first Toyota here to get a “Neo Drive” powertrain, a mild-hybrid system that combines the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine with an integrated starter generator (ISG) that serves as both an electrified generator and motor.

The Urban Cruiser delivers 102 hp and 138 Nm of torque. Its engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and its fuel efficiency is 19.8 km/l.

The Urban Cruiser has a 5.4-meter turning radius and is fitted with MacPherson strut suspension up front and torsion beam suspension in the rear.

Exterior design

The Urban Cruiser’s exterior is nothing short of striking. It has a crystal acrylic upper grille complemented by a chrome garnish. A wide lateral bar flows from the DRLs, crossing the Toyota emblem. At the rear, chrome accents are between the combination lamps. The top GLX model gets 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior Features

The 2025 Urban Cruiser has a head-up display and a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information screen. The driver benefits from a tilt and telescopic steering wheel equipped with controls for the audio system and vehicle operations.

Tech Features

The GL trim has a 7-inch multimedia screen, while the GLX trim has a 9-inch screen that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. The Urban Cruiser also has three USB ports, a four-speaker sound system, and a rear AC vent. Rear passengers get 60/40 split reclining seats.

Safety Features

The 2025 Urban Cruiser comes with six SRS airbags (front, side, and curtain), 3-point ELR seatbelts for all passengers, and advanced safety systems like Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control (TRC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC). For added convenience, the Urban Cruiser also includes a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), Rear Parking Sensors, and a Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS), among other features.

Prices in the UAE start at AED 79,900 for the GL trim, while the GLX is priced at AED 85,900. In Saudi Arabia, prices for the GL start at SAR 81,650, and the GLX is priced at SAR 90,850.
