2025 MG 7 – Top features & Specs

Launched in 2024 in the UAE, the 2025 MG 7 is a front-wheel-drive sedan in the brand’s lineup. The 1.5L turbo engine starts at AED 77,777, and the 2.0L turbo variant starts at AED 107,000. The MG 7 has four trims: STD, DEL, COM, and G.DEL. The trims are similar on the exteriors, with changes only in the interior features and engine size.

MG 7 Design

The MG 7 is the first premium large sedan offered by the Chinese car maker. It is designed with an aerodynamic look, streamlined exteriors, and a wide body style.

The enhanced LED headlights and rear lights give it a striking appearance. The higher three trims get sporty red callipers and 19-inch alloy wheels. 

Its chrome grille, frameless doors, and a quad rear exhaust system enhance the car’s sporty look. The top trim includes a panoramic sunroof, which is also operable via the smart key with the added convenience of an electric tailgate function and an active retractable tail fin, enhancing its sporty appearance.

The MG 7 has five colour configurations: emerald green, jet black, rime grey, Bordeaux red, and glaze white.

MG 7 Interior

Extending the sports look into the interiors, MG brings a driver-centric design to the cabin. The cabin features a 10.25-inch front screen, a 12.3-inch multimedia display, and a Bose 9-speaker system for an immersive driving experience. The dashboard has AC controls, while the volume controls are only on the steering wheel.

The seats are crafted with a combination of Napa leather and suede, with textured piping details in the top trim and a premium Napa leather flat-bottomed steering wheel. In contrast, the lower trims feature a PVC foaming steering wheel. The driver’s seat has a 6-way electric adjustment, storage space in the centre console, and wireless charging. The rear has AC vents and two USB charging ports, and the seats have extra cushioning for comfort.

The multimedia display screen can control temperature controls the temperature, and volume buttons are available on the flat-bottomed leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Engine & Performance

The 1.5-litre turbo MG 7 features a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, offering 188 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque with a fuel economy of 14.5 km/L. The 2.0-litre turbo engine comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission and offers 257 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque with a conservative 13.9 km/L fuel consumption. 

The turbocharged engine also has a digital drive mode selector for normal, sport or eco-driving, adaptive cruise control and a super sports mode button, all available on the steering wheel.

Safety in the MG 7

Safety features and driver assistance systems make driving easier, such as front collision warning, rear collision detection, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and front and side airbags.

Additionally, all the variants have a rear-view camera, whereas the highest-trimmed variant features a 360-degree camera for enhanced visibility.
