VinFast Enters the Middle East, first showroom in Dubai

Vietnamese automotive maker VinFast has officially arrived in the Middle East, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion. Known for its “start-up spirit,” VinFast is backed by Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate, Vingroup. The brand’s entry into the UAE with a flagship showroom in Dubai signals its ambition to capture the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region.

Founded in 2017, VinFast has made waves in the automotive industry with rapid progress, establishing a high-tech manufacturing facility in Haiphong in a record 21 months. The company quickly grew to become one of Vietnam’s top brands, achieving the status of the nation’s best-selling car brand within the first ten months of 2024. This is a particularly impressive feat for an EV company, as it outpaced both foreign and traditional gasoline-powered competitors on its home turf.

VinFast’s First Middle Eastern Showroom

Located in Dubai, VinFast’s new dealership spans 1,000 square meters and serves as both a showroom and a service center. The Dubai facility showcases VinFast’s latest smart EV models, including the compact VF 6, the sporty VF 7, the family-sized VF 8, and the flagship VF 9.

VinFast’s expansion plans don’t stop in the UAE. The brand has outlined intentions to open dealerships in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain. These markets represent key entry points for VinFast as Middle Eastern countries actively support the transition to electric mobility. Saudi Arabia, for instance, has set ambitious goals, with plans for EVs to make up 30% of vehicles in Riyadh by 2030. With projections suggesting the regional EV market could grow at nearly 29% annually through 2028, VinFast aims to meet rising consumer demand.
