2025 Lexus LX gets new offroad trim, hybrid engine

Lexus has introduced the 2025 Lexus LX and added a new hybrid version, the LX 700h, expanding its electrified lineup to 12 models. The LX is available in five trims—Premium, F SPORT Handling, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and the new Overtrail.

Lexus LX 700h hybrid engine specs

The LX 700h’s heart is a nickel-metal hydride battery, which provides a fuel economy of about 9.9 km/l. Powered by a 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 hybrid engine, the LX 700h delivers 457 hp and 790 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Lexus LX Overtrail trim

The LX 700h 2025 is available in ‘Overtrail’ trim, designed specifically for off-road enthusiasts. It offers front and rear locking differentials, 33-inch all-terrain tyres, a 2,400W AC inverter, and unique styling touches like matte grey accents, black overfenders, and a front skid plate. The Overtrail grade is available in both two- and three-row configurations.

GA-F platform

Built on the GA-F platform introduced in 2022, the LX 700h benefits from a new three-cross frame that accommodates the hybrid system without compromising its off-road prowess. The platform design allows for better weight distribution and off-road capability, enhancing the vehicle’s overall performance.

Multi-Terrain Select

The LX 700h’s hybrid powertrain includes motor-driven power added to the low range for enhanced off-road performance, a first for a Lexus hybrid. Coupled with Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and Downhill Assist Control, this SUV is well-equipped for various challenging terrains.

Inside, the LX 700h continues Lexus’ tradition of luxury. The Overtrail variant features semi-aniline black or brown leather, contrasting stitching, and wood accents. It gets a 12.3-inch upper touchscreen and a 7-inch lower touchscreen to control the infotainment and HVAC controls.

Tech

Lexus has also incorporated advanced technology, including the standard Lexus Interface system, which offers cloud navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Other convenience features include a centre console cool box and rear manual sunshades.

Lexus LX availability and pricing

The Lexus LX 2025 will be available for sale early next year in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the GCC. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
