First Look: 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara in the GCC

The 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara has relaunched in the GCC and is already gaining some attention in the competitive compact SUV segment. The Grand Vitara has been a staple in Suzuki’s lineup for years.

The latest iteration has been recreated with many new features and improvements designed to appeal to modern drivers. The Grand Vitara currently comes in two trims: the GL, which is 2WD, and the GLX, which comes in 2WD and 4WD drive layouts.

What happened to the Suzuki Grand Vitara?

The Suzuki Grand Vitara was discontinued in 2018. Later, the SUV was redesigned and released in 2022 in India, where it quickly gained popularity. It recently returned to the Middle Eastern region, offering a hybrid engine.

Incidentally, the Toyota Urban Cruiser is the exact same car underneath the skin. They are both built in India as part of the Suzuki-Toyota global product share agreement. 

Exterior Design

The 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara exterior design sports a front fascia with a large polygonal grille, a bold chrome grille bar, and unique 3-point signature lamps.

Suzuki’s SUV styling heritage is revealed through the clamshell bonnet, sculpted lines and wheel arches, along with the available two-tone exterior colour options to choose from.

Interior Comfort and Technology

The 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara offers standard-grade seats that are covered in black diamond-patterned fabric for the GL trim, while the upgraded GLX trim offers perforated synthetic black leather seats and a panoramic sunroof with double sliding glass panels.

The dashboard is dominated by a 7-inch (GL) and 9-inch (GLX) touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through USP or Wi-Fi, voice recognition, and Bluetooth music playback, allowing connectivity with your smartphone.

The digital instrument cluster provides all the necessary driving information at a glance. Features include automatic climate control, a wireless charger (GLX), USB ports, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display (GLX), auto AC and heater control panel, keyless entry, and push-button start.

Suzuki Grand Vitara Performance

Under the hood, the 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara is equipped with a 1.5-litre hybrid engine that delivers 102 hp and torque of 137 Nm.

The mild hybrid system provides electric motor assistance during start-up and acceleration, thus suppressing fuel consumption through regenerative braking.

All this helps achieve an excellent fuel economy of 4.9 l/100 km in the FWD and 5.2 l/100 for the AWD model.

The SUV comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The advanced 4WD system, ALLGRIP SELECT offers four selectable modes: Auto, Sport, Mud/Snow and Lock.

Suzuki Grand Vitara Safety Features

The 2024 Grand Vitara comes equipped with a suite of safety features. These include six airbags, a pedestrian protection body, ABS with EBD, Total Effective Control Technology (TECT), hill hold control and hill descent control (GLX), an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and a rearview camera.

Advanced driver assistance systems such as lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring are available for both trims.

Suzuki Grand Vitara Pricing and Availability

The 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara is quite competitively priced, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers. It is available at all major Suzuki dealerships in the GCC in various trim levels.

Prices as of August 2024 start from AED 79,900 for the UAE and SAR 79,235 for Saudi Arabia.
