First Look: 2024 Audi Q7 arrives in the Middle East
Audi Middle East announced the arrival of the latest version of one of its most popular models, the Audi Q7. The 7-seater SUV has been a favourite in this region since it was first launched due to its luxury and comfort. The second generation has been around since 2016, and it got one facelift in 2020. Audi has decided to do another update in 2024, with subtle changes to the exterior to match its new design language, and the interior gets its latest tech.
Audi Q7 Exterior Design
The Audi Q7 is the largest SUV in Audi’s lineup and embodies the brand’s modern design language with its minimalist form and clean surfaces. The Audi Singleframe grille with vertical inlays marks it as a top model, with the interplay between the grille and higher-positioned headlights creating a powerful front-end architecture. The new colour-framed air intakes contribute to its appearance blending into the vehicle’s design.
Audi’s design philosophy for the Q7 focuses on reducing decorative elements and achieving a more ‘robust’ look. The S-line exterior package enhances its sporty appeal with accentuated side air intakes. Optional Black and Black Plus optics packages are also offered with striking accents, complementing the HD Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED rear lights.
Interior Features
The Audi Q7’s interior boasts luxury and versatility. It features a flexible interior concept, accommodating up to seven passengers, and is suitable for family trips, business travel, or leisurely drives.
The Q7 offers a range of customisable interior options, such as decorative inlays, seat designs with contrasting stitching, and advanced driver assistance systems. The updated infotainment system now supports third-party applications, which Audi claims are more responsive and user-friendly.
Audi Q7 Engine Options and Performance
There are two engine options: the 45 TFSI, with a four-cylinder petrol engine producing up to 252 hp, and the 55 TFSI, equipped with a six-cylinder petrol engine producing 340 hp. Both engines are supported by advanced suspension systems, including electronically controlled air suspension with adaptive damping and optional all-wheel steering. The Q7 includes advanced driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control and lane assist.
A high-performance trim, SQ7, will also be available. It features a V8 TFSI petrol engine that delivers 507 hp and 770 Nm of torque and accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.1 seconds. The SQ7 features an advanced suspension package, including torque vectoring and electromechanical active roll stabilisation (eAWS), enhancing precision and stability.
This trim also includes a redesigned spoiler, expressive diffuser, and larger air intakes with honeycomb grilles. Standard 21-inch wheels are offered, with an option for 22-inch wheels and high-performance braking systems.
Suspension and Handling
The Audi Q7’s suspension system focuses on standard features, including electronically controlled air suspension with continuously adaptive damping, offering a customisable ride height and level control. On the highway, the suspension automatically adjusts to lower by up to 30 millimetres, improving stability at higher speeds.
The “Lift” function in Audi Drive Select enhances off-road capabilities, increasing ground clearance by up to 60 millimetres. Optional all-wheel steering enhances safety and comfort, reducing the turning radius and improving manoeuvrability, especially at low speeds.
The 2024 Audi Q7 is now available at dealers across the Middle East and comes with a 3-year warranty.
