First Look: 2024 JAC E30X electric vehicle

The JAC E30X was officially released for the UAE market by Al Habtoor Motors recently. It is the first electric vehicle in the JAC lineup.

The E30X is a hatchback measuring 4,025 mm in length and 1,170 mm in width, which puts it in the subcompact range. For context, it is longer than a Kia Picanto by 430 mm.

It gets LED headlights and daytime running lamps, while the rear gets halogen taillamps.

The E30X’s door handles have a “hidden” design that swings outwards electrically. It has 16-inch alloy wheels as standard, while the top model gets 17-inch wheels and a panoramic roof.

Inside, it gets a digital 6.2-inch instrument cluster. The dashboard has a minimalist design with all the controls on the touchscreen.

The E30X has a 12.8-inch touchscreen as standard, while the Flagship trim gets a 15.6-inch screen to access all the infotainment features and climate control functions.

It comes standard with leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The seats are nicely padded, and the rear legroom is decent. The higher Flagship trim also gets ventilated seats.

The boot space is average. It can hold about 250 litres of cargo space, which is a little less than a Nissan Micra.

The top model has 360-degree camera functionality for ease of parking, which shouldn’t be too hard with a 4-metre-long hatchback.

The E30X’s battery capacity is 51.5 kWh, which produces 94 hp and 135 Nm of torque. Its top speed is about 150 kph, and JAC claims it can go from 0 to 100 kph in about 8 seconds.

The battery has a range of about 400 km. A 43 kWh fast charger can charge it from 30 percent to 80 percent in about 30 to 40 minutes.

Safety features include dual airbags with front, side and curtain airbags. ABS, brake assist, stability control, traction control and tyre pressure monitor are also included.

The top Flagship trim gets additional safety features such as lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, and auto emergency brake with pedestrian recognition.
