2025 Honda Civic gets a facelift, more power
The 2025 Honda Civic has received a slight update, but the more significant news is what’s under the hood. A new hybrid powertrain has been introduced, providing more power and better fuel economy.
The new trim, Sport Hybrid, gets a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine coupled with two electric motors to produce 200 hp and 315 Nm of torque. That is more than the current 2024 Civic Si being sold in other markets.
Honda says the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine will no longer be available except for the Si trim. The hybrid engine should also help the new Civic achieve fuel economy numbers of less than 5 litres/100 km, which would be pretty impressive! The current engine on the Civic returns a 5.6 l/100 km combined rating.
The 2025 Civic will also include four levels of regenerative braking, and the suspension has been updated, which Honda says will improve the ride quality and reduce noise.
The main change in the new exterior design is the updated bumper, which swaps the bigger vents for thinner ones. The front grille has also gotten a little bigger. The Hybrid models get an additional lip spoiler, while all Civic models will now have darkened taillights.
Offered for the first time for the tech side of things, Google will be in-built. Other updates include a bigger 9.0-inch screen for the infotainment system in the Hybrid models and a 12-speaker stereo.
The 2025 Honda Civic will probably come to the UAE and the rest of the GCC sometime next year.
