2024 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Super Sport special editions mark end of petrol engines
Alfa Romeo has chosen to slowly get rid of their petrol-engined line-up entirely in anticipation of several European markets banning internal-combustion cars in the near future. After a raft of special-edition versions of the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio models, two more have been introduced, dubbed the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Super Sport editions.
Stellantis has just announced the 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport sedan and the 2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport crossover SUV. The Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport is limited to 275 units worldwide, while the Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport is limited to just 175 units.
Both are powered by the flagship twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 making 505 hp and 602 Nm of torque, shifting through an eight-speed automatic.
The Super Sport models are updated with a black Quadrifoglio badge, carbon fibre mirror caps, carbon fibre accents in the grille shield, black Brembo calipers, and dark five-hole wheels — 19 inches on the Giulia, 21 inches on the Stelvio.
Inside, unique trim includes red carbon fibre on the instrument panel, centre console and door cards, embroidered headrests, and a steering wheel wrapped in leather and Alcantara.
Three exterior colour options for the Giulia are Bianco Alfa, Metallic Nero Vulcano or “Three-layer” Rosso Etna. The Stelvio can be had in all colours except Bianco Alfa.
It is unknown at this point if the Super Sport will be offered in the UAE and GCC region, but in other markets, they cost the equivalent of about AED 20,000-25,000 above the standard Quadrifoglio models. The standard Stelvio is expected to sunset in 2025, with the sedan following in 2026, as per reports.
