Chery International Technology Day
In October, last month Chery Tech Day was held at the Chery Longshan Test Center in Wuhu, China. Themed “Technology Within Reach” it showcased Chery’s focus on core technological areas, its ongoing strategic development in technology, the diverse development paths taken, and the latest achievements. DriveArabia was covering this event as part of UAE’s media delegation team along with Mr Zaher Sabbagh – Director at Chery UAE by AWRostamani and Ms Sanaa Ouahmane – CEO of AWR Mobility.
In contrast to the “2022 Chery Tech Day,” this event marks Chery’s first gathering of domestic and international users for a grand technological symposium. In attendance were various levels of government officials, as well as over 600 experts from universities both domestic and overseas, media representatives, and international users from over 30 countries. Together, they collectively bore witness to Chery’s unwavering exploration in technological innovation while concurrently reinforcing the distinctive label of “International Chery.”
Advancing Technology
Chery, Driven by Innovation and Paving the Way for the Future. In its 26 years since establishment, Chery has consistently upheld technological innovation and product breakthroughs, comprehensively venturing into all aspects of automotive technology. The “2023 Chery Tech Day” featured various technical show areas including hybrid technology, electric vehicle technology, and overseas technology, offering a comprehensive display of Chery’s intelligent blueprint for the future of transportation.
During the event, Mr. Yin Tongyue, the Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Chery Holdings Group Co., Ltd., delivered the opening address. He remarked, “We aspire to establish a robust and flourishing innovative ecosystem, characterized by a sturdy core. Chery is committed not only to autonomously cultivating talent but also to continuously attracting leading experts from around the world. ”
Regarding product innovation, Mr. Yin Tongyue specifically emphasized that, when necessary, Chery must engage in subtraction, focusing on refining product lines to create distinctive, tasteful, and high-quality products. “We aim to achieve a reputation for excellence that speaks for itself, creating a resounding impact with our endeavors.”
Expanding Market
Chery exports its products to over 80 countries with a global user base exceeding 12 million. As the first Chinese independent automobile brand to venture into overseas markets, Chery’s products have been exported to more than 80 countries and regions, with a global user base exceeding 12 million. Over the past four years, Chery has achieved a compound growth rate of up to 91%. The brand’s recognition has increased by 300%, reputation by 91%, and net recommendation rate has surpassed 60%.
In response to this, Zhang Shengshan, Assistant General Manager of Chery and Executive Vice President of Chery International, stated, “In recent years, overseas market users’ perception of Chery has shifted from ‘economic’ and ‘reliable’ to ‘technological’ and ‘stylish’. Chery’s continuous innovation in technology will continue to empower and accelerate our development, helping to shape Chery’s brand image as a leader in technology, green innovation. It is precisely because of our continuous exploration in the field of technology that Chery has acquired the technical capability to develop vehicles adapted to different countries and environments, making our products more in line with the needs of local markets and users.”
Regarding future plans for introducing products in the international market, Zhang Shengshan said, “Starting from 2024, Chery will launch a series of PHEV and BEV new models in multiple markets, equipped with next-generation DHE/DHT, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving technology, intelligent cabins, and other applicable technologies. Through product iterations, we will continuously enhance the technological attributes of our vehicles.”
Chery also invited three users from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Chile, who shared their love for Chery and their fondness for Chery products on the spot. Chery listens to the voices of its users, persistently innovates in technology, and strives to create high-quality products for global users that excel in “safety,” “space,” “energy efficiency,” “intelligence,” and “ecology.” This effort aims to establish a comprehensive technological innovation chain for the new era.
With this, the “2023 Chery Tech Day” has successfully come to a close. It is evident that Chery, currently grounded in technology as its market foundation, is poised to maintain a leading position in the new era and the new energy track, supported by its fresh strategic framework.
