2024 Volkswagen Teramont gets a mid-life refresh
VW Teramont is the brand’s second-biggest SUV, smaller than the China-only VW Talagon. It and its more stylish sibling, the Teramont X/Atlas Cross Sport, now gets a facelift for 2024 that brings in some visual changes, and some that goes deeper than the skin.
Larger headlamps, an LED strip that connects them and a mostly blacked-out grill bring some freshness to the face of the 2024 Volkswagen Teramont. A wide light bar stretches across the width of all the variants of the Teramont except the base model. This makes do with the standard lights that are not connected. Wheels get new designs, ranging from 18 to 21 inches.
High-quality leatherette wraps around some plastic on the dash and centre console of the 2024 Volkswagen Teramont. The seats are now wrapped with quilted leather. Screens growing in a new car is no surprise. The new Teramont gets a new screen, a floating 12.0-inch unit, instead of the existing 10.3-inch screen. It also adds a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Multiple features like Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have become standard, and the range also gets wireless charging. Another standard fitment is VW’s IQ. Drive driver assistance suite that adds several semi-autonomous features.
But these changes go deeper than the skin of the 2024 Volkswagen Teramont. The powerplant is now all new. The existing VR6 petrol engine goes out, and in comes a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit. It produces 269 hp and 370 Nm, matching the V6’s towing capacity of 2260 kgs. This engine is paired only with an eight-speed automatic, while the customers can go either for the standard front-wheel-drive or an optional 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.
