Kia Stinger finally bids farewell with a Tribute Edition
Since its launch in 2017, the Kia Stinger has been a machine that racked up praises. But unfortunately, it could not translate the interest into sales. As an effect, the timeline is about to end for this grand tourer from South Korea. The Kia Stinger tribute Edition arrives to bring the short yet loved life of the Stinger to a close in an eventful fashion.
The Kia Stinger tribute Edition comes with a special Moonscape matte grey shade or the already available Ascot Green shade. The mirror caps, wheels, and brake calipers are all finished in black. The interior can be had in Terracotta Brown, detailed with faux carbon fibre trim.
Under the skin, the Kia Stinger tribute Edition gets the GT’s 3.3-litre turbocharged V6 powerplant. The outputs from this engine are unchanged. The GT already produces 368 hp and 510 Nm, which is quite decent. The details from Kia mention nothing about whether the Kia Stinger tribute Edition is available as a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, or both.
Only 1000 units of the Kia Stinger tribute Edition will be made. This marks the end of a very good attempt from Kia at making a solid value-for-money V6 GT car. But sadly, this was not enough for the Stinger to fight the raging SUV storm. Kia says that the EV6 GT will be an indirect replacement for the Stinger. Whether we agree with it or not is a good debate topic. Rest in peace, Stinger.
