2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB to hit UAE & GCC next year.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB is the latest addition to their crossover lineup. The GLB will be looking to capture market share by offering up to seven seats, which no one is currently offering in the luxury compact crossover segment.

Due to its size, the GLB won’t exactly have comfortable third-row seats. Another feature is the second-row slides back and front, and the backrests can be inclined as well. The third-row can be folded down as well, to offer more cargo room at the back.

There are cup holders mounted between the seats in the third row. There are also two storage compartments each having a USB port.

Under the hood, the GLB 250 gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It produces 224 hp and 350 Nm of torque, enough to take it from 0-100 kph in 6.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 236. Combined fuel consumption is about 7.4 l/100 km.

Safety is good in the GLB as one would expect from Mercedes-Benz. The third-row seat gets retractable head restraints and seat belts with belt tensioners, and rearmost passengers get side airbags as well. It is child-seat friendly as well, with both ISOFIX and TOP-Tether anchorages.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB is expected to hit the UAE, Saudi Arabia and GCC markets in the middle of next year.
