Nissan GT-R50 shown in Dubai as part of world tour

The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign made its Middle East debut at the Dubai Autodrome, as part of a global tour.

The showcase of the GT-R50 prototype in the region followed its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. The production run will be limited to 50 vehicles.

Nissan collaborated with Turin, Italy-based Italdesign to create the model, based on the latest Nissan GT-R NISMO. The GT-R50 celebrates 50 years of Italdesign as well as 50 years of Nissan GT-R models.

While the prototype vehicle was finished in a special gray with gold accents, a customer will be able to specify their preferred colour combinations for the production version, but it should not match any of the other 49 cars. Buyers will also be able to choose interior colors and packages, which includes carbon fibre, alcantara and Italian leather.

The hand-assembled 3.8-litre V6 turbo engine is tuned to produce an estimated 710 hp and 780 Nm of torque. A revised Bilstein suspension damping system and upgraded Brembo braking system are included. We were not allowed to drive it, so we can’t say if it feels any different compared to a regular GT-R.

The cost of each car is said to start at around US$ 1.1 million, or around Dhs 4.1 million in the UAE.
