2019 BMW Z4 arrives in 3 trims
Countless rumours, speculation and spy shots later, arrives the 2019 BMW Z4. The roadster revealed its face at the Pebble Beach in its most powerful M40i guise which was later followed by the lesser sDrive20i and sDrive30i models.
The top M40i trim gets a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-6 engine which powers the roadster from 0-100 kph in 4.5 seconds. The power output of this engine is given as 382 hp in US spec and 335 hp in European spec. In addition to the engine, the M40i also gets adaptive dampers, M Sport brakes, and an electronically controlled rear differential.
In the lesser sDrive30i, a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine with 255 hp and 400 Nm is offered and, in Europe, an entry-level model called sDrive20i with a 194 hp 2.0-litre unit will also be on sale. The sDrive30i will take 5.4 seconds from 0-100 kph while the sDrive20i will need 6.6 seconds for the job.
All the versions of the 2019 BMW Z4 will be offered only with an 8-speed automatic. There is no manual gearbox option.
The looks of the 2019 BMW Z4 is heavily updated to look more contemporary and upscale. The roadster does away with the folding hardtop in favor of a soft top. The 19-inch wheels look appropriately big enough for the roadster which also gets a neat ducktail spoiler at the back.
The new 2019 BMW Z4 range will go on sale in Europe and US by Mar-2019. So expect a UAE, Saudi Arabia and GCC launch by that time.
