2018 Renault Clio RS 18 revealed with an F1 connection
Renault is well-known in the Formula 1 arena. As they’re completing 40 years of involvement with the most elite motor racing championship, Renault has decided to infuse some F1 heritage to one of their hot hatches to make the Clio RS 18.
The name of the Clio RS 18 comes from Renault’s upcoming RS 18 F1 car. There are a few visual changes and an Akrapovic exhaust as standard but apart from those, there isn’t much. The engine is still the 1.6-litre turbo petrol with 220 hp and 280 Nm from the stock hot hatchback.
The body houses a number of RS 18 badges and a double-diamond motif on the roof. It is finished in black but with Sirius Yellow highlights and grey decals.
The interior has some unique touches in the form of a faux carbon-fibre theme around air vent surrounds, an Alcantara and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Renault Sport branded floor mats. The door sills are numbered in order to denote the limited availability of the Clio RS 18.
The Clio RS 18 is Renault’s way of taking the hot supermini for one last spin as they’re going to reveal the new version in October at the Paris Motor Show.
It is not know yet if any of the Renault Clio RS 18 models will hit the UAE, Saudi Arabia or other GCC markets.
