Saleen S7 Le Mans Edition resurrects a legend

We witnessed a stride down the prestige hill by Saleen Automotive as they lifted the covers off the new “affordable” Saleen S1 sports car a few days ago. But now they’ve revealed a new S7 that redeems their upscale status. Called the Saleen S7 Le Mans Edition, this new supercar is limited to just 7 units, each of which will poke a US$ 1 million hole in the customer’s wallet.

The body of Saleen S7 Le Mans Edition shows off almost the same design as the original S7 but with a few updates. A unique black and silver paint scheme with clear-coated carbon fibre is offered for the S7 Le Mans. It rides on a set of forged five-spoke wheels that are shod with high-performance tyres. The cabin of the S7 Le Mans is equipped with leather and Alcantara clad sports seats, Suede-covered steering wheel, air conditioning, LED display, and a reversing camera.

Powering the S7 Le Mans Edition is a 7.0-litre bi-turbo V8 that churns out 1300 hp which is channeled through a longitudinal six-speed synchromesh gearbox. A limited-slip differential handles the power splitting duties.

The S7 Le Mans edition will ensure that the legendary S7 remains a halo model for Saleen when it launches the S1 sports car into production with a price tag of US $100,000.
