Classic Toyota FJ43 Land Cruiser revamped by The FJ Company

For fans of the classic FJ-43 Land Cruiser, “The FJ Company” from Miami created a machine that blends the classic looks with some modern amenities. Called the “Signature” edition, this vehicle starts off as an original 1981 FJ43 Land Cruiser, the chassis of which is taken as the base for construction.

The FJ43 chassis and body is completely stripped, and new reinforcements are added to it. The bodywork is painted in a matte-finished Toyota Dune Beige shade and is littered with custom accessories like a fuel cap cover and machined aluminium side mirrors painted in gunmetal grey.

The Signature edition gets off-road tech in the form of a Warn 8274 winch mounted on to a 4-Series bumper which also houses built-in LED lights by Baja Designs. Under the hood lives Toyota’s 1 GR-FE V6 engine that displaces 4.0 litres. The output of this engine is 240 hp.

The suspension duties are handled by a custom-made system which uses Fox shocks coupled with Old Man Emu leaf springs. The braking system uses four discs lifted off the 2017 Toyota 4Runner.

The dashboard combines exposed metal and leather, and comes with custom-designed components that are painted in gunmetal grey. The Recaro Sportster SC front seats come with a heating function. An iPad is used to play music through the Signature sound system.

Just 24 examples of the Signature model will be made, at a steep US$ 200,000 price tag.
