2018 Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge launched in UAE

Rolls-Royce recently revealed their latest creation, the Dawn Black Badge in the UAE. Abu Dhabi Motors hosted a track event in Yas Marina Circuit for the media and customers to experience the new model. Black Badge is the English luxury brand’s bespoke division which was launched last year to appeal to a younger crowd.

Under the hood, the turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 engine has been upgraded from 563 hp to 593 hp, and torque has gone up 20 Nm as well to deliver 840 Nm.

It gets a completely new exhaust system which provides more grunt, as well as 1 cm bigger brakes for better stopping power. The 8-speed ZF automatic transmission has been remapped to provide downshifts at few rpm sooner under braking to offer engine braking during spirited driving. The steering rack has also been quickened.

The exterior gets a special custom multi-layer gloss paint job, with black alloy wheels and the canvas roof in black as well. The huge fornt grille is finished in black chrome, along with the exhaust pipes and trim on the tailgate.

The interior gets the treatment as well, with aircraft-grade aluminium and carbon-fibre trim.

  1. They can redesign and tune the marketing as long as they want, the car still looks fat and bulky (just look at the door handles or the mirrors) and there is no paddle shifters. Amen.
