Tesla taxis to be offered by Uber in Dubai

“Ride-hailing” company Uber and Dubai’s Road & Transport Authority have teamed up to offer the RTA’s new Tesla taxis via the Uber app.

From October 10 onwards, you can select the UberOne option on the app, and then choose between the Model S or the Model X, with an expected base fare of Dhs 10 and then Dhs 1.9 per kilometre, similar to UberBlack, as per Gulf News.

As Tesla is fast moving away from its premium electric-car niche to become a prominent taxi-service player, the Dubai Airports authority also intends to offer the electric cars as a taxi service for passengers heading to check-in for flights in the near future.
