2018 Lincoln Navigator revealed in New York

The all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator has been revealed at the 2017 New york Auto Show, looking very similar to the gullwinged Navigator Concept displayed at last year’s NY show. Of course, the gullwing doors didn’t make it to production, but expectedly, it is a rebodied version of the all-new Ford Expedition that debuted a few months ago.

The new Navigator makes extensive use of high-strength aluminium-alloy in its body that cuts around 90 kg of weight compared to the outgoing model.

Power continues to be provided by a twin-turbo V6 that Lincoln says is projected to make 450 horsepower and mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, similar to the Ford F-150 Raptor.

Inside its spacious interior, both front seats feature heating/cooling/massaging functions and are adjustable in 30 ways. Rear seats have a recline function.

Available rear-seat entertainment features include 10-inch adjustable screens. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are part of the standard SYNC 3 system. A total of 20 speakers with the optional Revel II audio system can create distinct listening modes including audience, on-stage, and stereo.

A Lincoln “welcome mat” will illuminate on the ground beneath the front doors, and the Lincoln star badge in the grille lights up too.

Expect the new Navigator to reach UAE, KSA and GCC markets by the middle of next year. We’re guessing it will cost upwards of Dhs 250,000 and top out at around Dhs 350,000.

  1. I’m glad that the steering-mounted gear is back. It allows for so much more storage.

  2. At least it looks much better than the current generation. They seem to have gotten the proportions right this time
