Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Wagon is a reality
Porsche has unveiled the new 2018 Panamera Sport Turismo, sharing the stage at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The Panamera Sport Turismo is a wagon by any other name. Porsche carves out an odd niche, as there exists no other full-size ‘wagons’ with 550 hp in the market. It remains to be seen whether there will be enough customers for a car dreamt of only by teenage bloggers. We have yet to see a single Audi RS6 wagon on the road that isn’t a press test-drive car.
The Panamera Sport Turismo offers a respectable 521 litres of cargo space at the back which can be expanded to a massive 1387 litres when the rear seats are folded down. A centre console runs into the middle seat at the rear, so the comfort of a fifth passenger is debatable (unless he is legless) in what is being billed as a practical 5-seater.
The Panamera Sport Turismo comes with 5 engine options which include the 330 hp Panamera 4, 462 hp Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, 440 hp Panamera 4S, 422 hp Panamera 4S Diesel and the top-spec 550 hp Panamera Turbo Sport. Prices will be a bit dearer than that of the sedan when the international launch happens in November.
