Skoda Octavia RS 245 to be revealed in Geneva
Skoda revealed the new Octavia RS 245, which is set to debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This model adds another likable trait to Octavia’s portfolio — speed. This version is power packed with a lot of horses and is available in liftback and wagon body styles.
Under the hood, the 2.0-litre TSI engine produces 245 hp, which is equal to what the new VW Golf GTI Performance manages to produce, and a healthy 370 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a 6-speed manual and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. An electronically regulated VAQ limited-slip differential that comes as standard equipment is a feature exclusively offered with the RS 245.
The liftback will accelerate from 0-100 kph in 6.6 seconds while the wagon will be on the run for another 0.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 kph in both the variants. The Octavia RS 245 is lowered by 14 mm and 19-inch wheels are offered with the RS 245 to be shod with a set of sporty rubber.
But on the outside, the changes are quite minimal apart from the bigger wheels. The dual headlights of the facelifted model give it a fresh appeal but there is nothing much to set it apart from the sedate model. Our region hasn’t received the facelifted model yet so it remains to be seen if the Octavia RS 245 makes it to our shores.
