So we got a 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR

If you look beyond the hype, the Jaguar F-Type isn’t anything ground-breaking when it comes to sports cars. Based off of a decade-old chassis with carryover engines, its claim to fame was always the noise rather than the dynamics, at least when compared to various rivals. So we weren’t expecting a whole lot from the SVR version of this car. But boy were we wrong.

The SVR doesn’t look a whole lot different from the basic F-Type, aside from wings and vents. Based purely on show, it may be hard to justify the top Jag’s near supercar-level price tag.

However, the F-Type truly does offer near-supercar levels of performance now that it has rear-biased all-wheel-drive to keep the excess power in check. It’s more fun to drive than a Nissan GT-R, that’s for sure. Sounds better too. More on that in the full review.

If you know the local language, here’s our Arabic editor Tammam doing a walkaround and drive.

What do you think?

  1. Man this looks meaner and sexier. The old one was just a 02 door, but this one commands a respect!!!!!!

  2. These days you guys keep saying “More on that in full review” but we never get to see the full reviews.. Why is that??

    • cause it takes time for a full review. You want just a copy paste from brochure… u are on the wrong site. Family commitments and local weather are hurdles. Keep up Mash.. we need an honest review..

Thank you for your understanding. In addition, we have to work on the business side as well, which pays for everything while keeping the editorial independent. Last thing we want is to start doing paid reviews like most others.
