So we got a 2017 Skoda Octavia
The Skoda Octavia is long forgotten here as a viable contender in the compact segment, but when we finally took one for a spin, we found it to be a value-packed alternative to the venerable VW Golf.
While a new facelifted version is already out in Europe, it isn’t hugely different from the outgoing model we have here. The clean lines actually hide a hatchback-style tailgate in a sedan body style.
Inside, it makes use of materials and tech almost similar to that of the pricier Golf, while offering a lot more cabin space.
The big little Skoda drives as a European car should, with a phenomenal engine under the bonnet. More on that in the full review.

More like lack of awareness. There are big discounts and warranties on offer right now.

this brand was always underrates here. personally i like this brand cause i think this is a brand for those who cant afford to buy VW but want something with same performance and don’t care if the interior quality to be as good as VW. most of their engines and gearboxes are the same as VW. if only the start advertising and marketing it more, I’m sure more people will get to know this brand. i remember back in 2014 Opel went crazy by advertising their cars here an soon after i start seeing lots of Opel’s in the streets. which is great cause that is also a very good brand.

Isn’t the Skoda just a camouflaged VW? It is just a marketing strategy, I guess. End of the day the mother of most motor brands is VW. Same chassis used for most of the different brands under their wings.

Hi Mash, where is the review already? My purchase decision is so hinged on it.

The review was originally supposed to be written by someone else who actually borrowed the car from the dealer. I drove it briefly, but maybe I should take over the review.
