Hyundai Azera 2018 revealed in Korea as Grandeur
Hyundai has launched the all-new 2018 Azera large sedan on its home turf, Korea, under the Grandeur moniker. With the subsidiary Genesis brand acting as a luxury marque, Hyundai now has more room at the top of their portfolio to move up their flagships even further.
The front fascia features the cascading grille which made its first appearance on the latest i30 hatchback. Most likely, the Azera will grow a bit with this update. But just like the outgoing model, the new Azera will also share its mechanicals with its sister, the Kia Cadenza.
The Grandeur comes with a front-wheel-drive layout. The engine options will have turbocharged 4-cylinder engines and a V6 engine mated to Hyundai’s new FWD-specific 8-speed transmission. Hyundai also offers a hybrid version of the car for on sale in its domestic market in South Korea. However, it looks like the UAE and GCC will only get the 3.5-litre V6
As the car has already debuted in the South Korean market under its local moniker “Grandeur”, it will make its way to the Middle East by April next year. For now, they are still “teasing” us with sketches of the Azera.
