Usage of wooden panels in cars is a regular practice. In the automotive world, wood has always been a symbol of luxury and class. Here is the new Rolls-Royce Wraith Regatta, a work of American experiential designer Eddie Sotto who used to be the Senior Vice President of Concept Design for Walt Disney Imagineering. The Rolls-Royce Wraith, even in its standard form, is one of the most opulent cars currently on sale. The Regatta takes it to a whole new level with the addition of wood. A lot of it.

Sotto’s decision to spec the car in this elegant way came from his opinion about other customised Rolls-Royce models that are available currently. He called them “more garish than graceful” and fitted with “giant wheels and gold and bright colours”.

The designer took his inspiration from classic wooden yachts for this special edition. The Regatta features mahogany on the roof, hood and on the rear section. The wood treatment doesn’t stop there. The interior of the car is specced with wooden finish on door panels and dashboard. The AC vents receive brass trim bits as well. The customisation options are unlimited and you can opt from a large variety of wood-paint combos for the car. All the works will be done by California based Aria Group, whose portfolio includes concepts like Kia GT4 Stinger and Mazda Furai.

The Regatta will set you back by US$ 1 million, if you are one among the elite few who can afford to pay more than double the price of a regular Wraith.
