So we got a 2016 Peugeot 308 Allure

2016 Peugeot 308 Allure in the UAE

Older residents of the UAE would remember Peugeots being all over the place about a decade ago. Heck, even we had one on our independent long-term fleet. Peugeot is oddly low-key around here nowadays, but their most recent cars are fairly attractive offerings, so we were keen to give the 308 a go. This one is the Allure mid-range trim level, with the turbo engine.

Remember the time when Peugeots used to change names with every generation? Gone are the 306 and the 307, but this here is the second version of the 308, as Peugeot has decided to stay put with the badges now, as they were probably running out of numbers with a zero in the middle. And what a handsome hatchback it is.

While the exterior probably makes it the most attractive 5-door hatch around, the interior is clean and modern, but full of quirks that take getting used to.

A lot of people don’t even know that the new 308 is here, but its premium looks could help it find a niche audience, alongside the likes of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. More on that in the full review.

  1. Seems like an incomplete report to me…. am I missing something or I just read it before it got completed

  2. Just wait for the full review, your questions will be answered. Yeh toh trailer tha, Picture abhi bakhi hai mere dost

  3. French manufacturers reply on the looks more than the practicality side, that’s why their customer are mostly women!

I drove the new 208 and for some reason they had raised the cockpit dials above steering wheel! you end up either lowering your steering wheel to touch your legs or drive on with no clue what your speed is….blaaakh

  4. Have you tried the C5 and tested the Hydractive suspension (oleopneumatic)? It’s oure piece of genius from the 30’s, and still rides today. and it rides soooo good !

  5. @Mash: That pram is missing from the 6th pic 😛
