BMW M4 GTS revealed

BMW has just revealed the new M4 GTS, a model that they call the “most agile, radical and powerful M4 ever,” which is amusing because the M4 nameplate has only been around for less than 2 years now. Maybe they meant the M3 as well.

The M4 GTS comes with an upgraded 493 hp 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-6 engine with a new water injection system that sprays a fine mist into the intake manifold where it evaporates, lowering the temperature of the intake air. Also included are a three-way adjustable coilover suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, an interior with leather/alcantara and a roll-bar, a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic and a weight reduction of roughly 80 kg compared to a stock M4 with the help of a carbon-fibre bonnet and driveshaft as well as missing rear seats.

Only 700 will be built. BMW says the M4 GTS will run the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 28 seconds. It will likely cost at least twice as much as an already-overpriced stock M4 if a few end up in the UAE.
