2016 Lamborghini Huracan Spyder debuts at Frankfurt Motor Show
Lamborghini has taken the top off their entry-level model, making it the 2016 Huracan Spyder, which has now been officially unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Huracan Spyder shows no visible exterior changes except for the electro-hydraulic soft top. It is interesting that Lamborghini opted for the fabric top as opposed to the hard top seen on the Aventador Roadster. In any case, the car’s roof opens and closes in 17-seconds and works at speeds of up to 50 kph via a button mounted on the center tunnel.
The Italian supercar will also come with two removable lateral wind guards and a built in duct to reduce turbulence within the car. They’ve also fitted two fins for optimised air-flow through the engine compartment.
The Spyder, as expected weighs a tad bit more than the coupe at 1,542 kgs. However, with the same 5.2-litre V10 producing 601 hp and 560 Nm of torque, it hits the 100 kph mark from stop in 3.4 seconds; which is almost identical to that of the coupe, and can hit a top speed of 324 kph.
The Spyder will come standard with carbon-ceramic brakes with 380 mm front discs. Lamborghini will also paint the brake calipers in the color of your choice. You’ll also get LED headlights, 20-inch Giano alloy wheels and a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster as standard. Buyers will also receive an option to customise the fabric for the top in black, brown or red.
The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder should hit the roads of UAE, Qatar, Saud Arabia and the rest of the GCC by mid-2016.
