Brabus touch to the Mercedes-AMG GT S
Brabus is at it again. After releasing their versions of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG and C63 S AMG, the German tuner has revealed the beefed up version of the Mercedes-AMG GT S, which will officially debut at this week’s 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show
Under the hood, Brabus has upgraded the engine to produce 592 hp and 750 Nm of torque, thanks to a new mapping for the injection system and ignition, and a slightly higher boost pressure. That means the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 produces 88 more hp and 100 Nm more of of torque from the standard AMG GT S. This power boost helps it shoot from 0-100 kph in 3.6 seconds and top speed jumps from 310 kph to 325 kph.
It gets a quad sports exhaust made from lightweight titanium with four tailpipes made from a combination of titanium and carbon. This exhaust system weighs about 40-percent less
than the production exhaust. This exhaust is fitted with electronically controlled butterfly valves operated from the cockpit. The standard setting offers a “coming home” sound tuning that is even quieter than the production exhaust.
The front bumper of the coupe receives a visual upgrade with a front spoiler, which also helps reduce lift on the front axle, resulting in even more stable handling. It also receives air outlets for the front fenders, rocker panels and a rear diffuser. The two-seater rides on 20-inch wheels on the front and 21-inch wheels at the back.
We will probably see a few reach the shores of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries in the near future.
