Honda has officially revealed the 2016 CR-Z in Japan. The hybrid CR-Z was originally introduced in 2010 as a spiritual successor to the beloved CR-X, but it never caught on as well as its predecessor, and yet it soldiers on with this latest facelift.

Looking at the exterior, it gets a new front bumper, a revised front-grille, LED headlights, revised side-skirts, redesign of the side-sill garnish, a new rear bumper and restyled 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels. It also gets new exterior colour combinations.

For the interior, it gets a push-start/stop button, an electronic parking-brake and an upgraded audio system.

The hybrid engine pretty much remains the same, which is the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder and IMA hybrid-electric system making about 130 hp. A few tweaks have been done here and there to improve its handling and driving dynamics. These include wider rear tires, an upgraded braking system and a retuned suspension with new springs and dampers.

The Honda CR-Z is currently not sold in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or other GCC regions.
